How to Enable Dark Mode in Google Chrome in PC

You guys may have watched many videos and also read articles on internet regarding this but all those articles would be telling to use an extension or use an software to enable dark mode. But in this article I would be telling a very simple way to enable this feature. So lets get started!!!

Checking the Chrome Version :-

For using dark mode on chrome the chrome's version should be 82.0 or above. If not then first update it. To check the chrome's version simply follow the given steps:-

Open Chrome browser.
Click on the 3 dots at the top right corner of the screen.
Click on help option.
After that click on the "About Google Chrome " option.

The version of the browser would be displayed here. If it would be outdated then chrome will automatically update it. In most of the cases the browser is always up to date.

Enabling Dark Mode :-

Now here comes the process. Simply follow the given steps :-

Right Click on the chrome icon.
Then click on the properties option.
A dialogue box will open.
In this dialogue box click on the shortcut option.
After that at the end of the target section give a space and type "--force-dark-mode " as shown in the given image.

Then click on the apply button.
Then click on Ok button.

The dark mode is now enabled. But this dark mode will not be applicable on the third party websites like YouTube and all. For that complete this method and after that follow the following methods :-

Open chrome browser.
Then type "chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark" in the URL box and press enter.
A webpage will be opened and a heading would be highlighted named as "Force dark mode for web contents".
In the right side of that heading there would be a drop down menu simply click on that and select enabled.
After that a relaunch button would be shown at the bottom of your browser.
Simply click on that and then your browser would be relaunched in dark mode.

The dark mode is now enabled on your browser without any external software or an extension. Now this dark mode will be applicable on all the websites. Enjoy !!!!
